I have been sampling a number of the GoPicnic products in anticipation of an upcoming trip. I actually brought this one along on an all-day car trip this week to check out the portability.

It did work well, I had the crackers, the sunbutter, the cookie, and the pomegranate raspberry cashew crunch. Since the apricots contain sufites, I normally put them to the side for a friend.

Of all of the meals, this one is the one that most felt like a snack instead of a meal or a special treat.

While I love the crunch, and the pomegranate crunch was no exception, there are only two small pieces, like a pair of small dice.

Since the crackers were broken, it was hard to put both the sunbutter and jelly on them without spilling it all over. When I was done, there was about half of the package of sunbutter left. Fortunately, I enjoy it enough that I squirted the remainder in my mouth.

The sunbutter is natural, so be sure to mix it up well before opening it. It is moister than peanut butter, and does not “stick to the top of your mouth.” The strawberry jam is awesome and makes a nice treat when it is put on items where it is easy to spread.

This came with one small cookie (about the size of an oreo). The cookie was delicious, but it felt strange to only have one available.

Even with the addition of a piece of fruit (to replace the apricots) this felt much more like a snack than a meal.

The food is good – but I suggest that you might enjoy some of the other GoPicnic combinations for the price. I suggest either GoPower: Bagel Chips & Cream Cheese 6-Pack or GoPicnic GoEnjoy, Boxes (Pack of 4) as an alternative.

This one could easily be replaced by “crackers & peanut butter” off of your local grocery shelf and a small box of raisins.

Three stars – the food that it has is good, but not enough to justify the cost of these meals.
