URGENT: We tried the cranberry version and the ruby lemon honey (immune defense) version. They tasted great but caused very serious heart-related symptoms!
Important caveat and warning for people with high blood pressure, heart problems — something in the ones we took cause heart rates to increase, flutter and/or palpitations in some people — maybe not all — but at least three people in our family started experiencing increased heart rates, irregular heart rates, high blood pressure, sleep disturbances! We measured it on my mom’s blood pressure monitor and all three went sky high — dangerous levels!
I have a feeling there may be ephedra or something similar that is not listed — I would bet many of the ingredients, especially the C (synthetic C ascorbic acid is mainly produced in and) are from China. BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU USE THIS PRODUCT. AT THE VERY LEAST PAY ATTENTION TO INCREASES IN HEART RATE/BLOOD PRESSURE, INSOMNIA, ETC.
Once we stopped taking the product, the problems started to subside. Something is wrong with the ingredientsin the ones we took and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a recall soon.

I just can not directly feel the energy after drinking it. I do not know how to guage its long-term benefit, I do not really want to.
However, if one is looking for an immediate feeling of “surge of energy”, there are much more suitable products out there.

My wife and I have been using Emergen-C for a few yeas now. Black Cherry is our favorite flavor, and the heart benefits are a welcome addition too. Our physician actually prescribes this and the regular Emergen-C packets (for vitamin B) to her patients.
The FDA may not have tested or approved this product, but based on my own experiences it works. I’ve gone from spending most of every winter sick to only one minor cold. Kudos Alacer!

Used as a periodic supplement to make tap water taste less like tap water.
This tastes like artificial cherry (i.e. Starburst candy). I happen to like that flavor.
I’ve noticed that my REM sleep is affected by consuming this particular product (Lucid dreaming?). It’s not a pro or con, I continue to enjoy using this product.
This product (mixed with water) is slightly more difficult to clean from a Nalgene bottle than other Emergen-C flavors.

I use this every day. It certainly helps ward off colds. Haven’t had one in years. I add it to my orange juice each morning. Helps keep my cholesterol count in desirable range. All in all I feel Linus Pauling was right!
